Final Comments

All 2-slotted electrical outlets throughout the house should be replaced with a grounded outlet. Due to the snow cover on the exterior of the home, the visibility of all exterior components was limited. Grade may remain wet for long periods of time - may have problems drying out. Recommend having Radon tested. Recommend having water tested. Suspected mold was found in the basement area. To determine what type of mold it is, recommend having it tested. Removal or treatment of suspected areas is recommended. The living space in basement was converted into a second apartment. Recommend further investigation to determine if proper CO's were taken out for basement. There were possible Asbestos floor tiles noted. Determining the presence of asbestos can only be done by sending a sample to a laboratory to be tested. Significant wood destroying insect damage was noted, primarily in the basement area, and also noted under the rear porch. Recommend treatment and repairs made to damaged areas. Recommend removal of all interior walls in the basement area that were damaged due to suspected mold and/or wood destroying insect infestation. The oven was improperly installed. Recommend further evaluation by a general contractor. Bent service mast - loose mast clamp. Recommend an evaluation by a licensed electrician. There was a small door leading from living room to garage area. Possible fire/carbon monoxide hazard. Recommend removing and sealing opening. On most of the doors throughout the house the doors were de-laminating. Recommend replacement of all damaged doors.
