In the event of an emergency, you may need to turn off utility service to your home. It is important to identify the main shut-offs with labels telling you how to shut them off. Everyone in your family should know where to find and how to operate these shut-offs. Recommend: The following items should be labeled: hot water shut-off, gas valve for appliances, air conditioning disconnect switch, furnace, gas or fuel valve, furnace disconnect switch (electrical), main gas or propane valve, main water valve and main electrical disconnect.
